Overview

Foradori’s "Sgarzon" is a pure expression of Teroldego from a unique vineyard site in the Campo Rotaliano of Trentino. "Sgarzon," meaning "shoot" in local dialect, refers to the vineyard’s dynamic, youthful character. Grown in sandy, gravel-rich soils, this Teroldego showcases freshness, elegance, and depth. The use of amphorae in vinification enhances the wine’s purity and textural complexity, making it a standout in Foradori’s portfolio.

Vinification and Aging

  • Fermentation: Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in clay amphorae.
  • Maceration: Extended skin contact in amphorae to develop complexity and structure.
  • Aging: Aged for approximately 8 months in amphorae before bottling with minimal intervention.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Deep ruby with violet hues.
  • Aroma: Bright red berries, pomegranate, violets, and wild herbs, with hints of graphite and spice.
  • Palate: Fresh and vibrant, with lively acidity and silky tannins. Juicy red fruit flavors are layered with mineral and earthy undertones.
  • Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering notes of red berries, crushed rocks, and subtle spice.

Food Pairing

Pairs well with roasted poultry, grilled lamb, earthy mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses. Its bright acidity and minerality also complement Mediterranean and rustic Italian cuisine.
