San Felice "Vigorello" IGT 2011 is a historic Super Tuscan, first introduced in 1968 as one of the pioneers of this category. This vintage is marked by a warm growing season, leading to a bold and expressive wine with depth, richness, and remarkable aging potential. A blend of Bordeaux and native Tuscan varieties, it embodies both power and finesse, showcasing the estate’s commitment to quality winemaking.
Vinification and Aging
- Fermentation: Fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
- Maceration: Extended maceration to extract deep color, structure, and complexity.
- Aging: Aged for 24 months in French oak barriques, followed by further bottle aging before release.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections at the edges.
- Aroma: Pronounced and complex, featuring ripe black cherries, cassis, and plums, intertwined with notes of cedar, tobacco, dark chocolate, and sweet spices.
- Palate: Full-bodied and structured, with well-integrated tannins. Layers of dark fruit, licorice, and espresso unfold with a vibrant acidity, creating balance and elegance.
